Mission Statement:

The Child Welfare System is a complex system requiring county, community organizations, and child advocates to work together. Through public awareness and education, the CWWU’s mission is to shine a light on the broken child welfare system and the dangers professionals face while working to keep our children safe.

Established by Child Protective Service workers in Pennsylvania in partnership with SEIU Local 668, Child Welfare Workers United is a partnership between organizations and individuals that advocate for the welfare and wellbeing of the children and families in our communities. Our mission is to educate the public and foster a greater understanding of the struggles that exist within the Child Welfare System while highlighting the need for additional resources to assist in protecting vulnerable children and their families.

CWWU was created to advocate for positive change in the child welfare system through outreach to elected officials, attendance at community events and public meetings, and allowing others to share their experiences with the Child Welfare System.
